Romans 8:14-17

“For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God. The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship. And by him we cry, “Abba, Father.” The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children. 17 Now if we are children, then we are heirs—heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory.” (Romans 8:14-17)

Dear Lord, please help ____ to be led by your Spirit. Allow her to perceive you as her Father and may she perceive herself as your daughter. I pray she’ll embrace the fact that she isn’t your slave – so she never has to fear again. Would you please inspire her truly to live as if she is your daughter? Please grant her the wisdom to address you as “Abba” — “Daddy.” Please — Holy Spirit — testify with her spirit that she is your child. Lord, grant that she would know that, if she is your child, she is also your heir – and therefore a co-heir with Christ. When she experiences suffering, help her to realize that she is not alone… that you, Jesus, suffered too, and that by suffering, she only becomes more like you so that she can share in your glory.
