Isaiah 55:8-13

8 For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the LORD. 9 For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts. “For as the rain and the snow come down from heaven and do not return there but water the earth, making it bring forth and sprout, giving seed to the sower and bread to the eater, 11 so shall my word be that goes out from my mouth; it shall not return to me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose, and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it. 12 “For you shall go out in joy and be led forth in peace; the mountains and the hills before you shall break forth into singing, and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands. 13 Instead of the thorn shall come up the cypress; instead of the brier shall come up the myrtle; and it shall make a name for the LORD, an everlasting sign that shall not be cut off.”

Lord, today I lift up ____. She knows in her head that your thoughts are not her thoughts. It’s just … getting that into her heart in times of overwhelming trouble — that’s the challenge. She knows your ways are not he ways. Please help her grasp that your ways are higher than her ways. Your thoughts are higher than her thoughts. In those times of challenge, help her understand that your Word is going to accomplish its purposes — no matter what. Your Word will never return empty-handed. So Lord, we just pray in advance: Please … may your will be accomplished in her life. Help her to embrace the fact that you love her so much and you want only the BEST for her.

As a result of all this, please help her to be able to go out into the world with joy and be led by peace. Even the mountains and hills get that. So please, in those troublesome times, please help her to embrace it too. Even the very trees in the forest seem to “clap their hands” in affirmation of your ways. Help her to feel that same sense of affirmation. So when she feels like life is handing her a lemon, may she realize that, in the end, you’re helping her make lemonade. Please remove the briers from her path and replace them with plush blankets that will help her rest in your will. Please help her trust in your mighty name. Please do this every day of her life for your glory Lord. She already realizes – it’s not about her. But in those troubling moments, please reign as her mighty King.

In the strong Name of Jesus I pray,

Amen
