Philippians 4:4-13

“4) Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! 5) Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. 6) Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7) And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

8) Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things. 9) Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me—put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you.

10) I rejoiced greatly in the Lord that at last you renewed your concern for me. Indeed, you were concerned, but you had no opportunity to show it. 11) I am not saying this because I am in need, for I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances. 12) I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. 13) I can do all this through him who gives me strength.”

Lord, today I pray that ____ may be able always to have joy in you. I repeat: may ____ be able always to have joy in you. May she be gentle because she depends on your strength. Please confirm to her that you are near. Help her to experience and know your closeness in her life. Please help her miraculously never to be anxious about anything, ever again, Lord. Instead, in every situation, may she rely on you through prayer and simply asking you, then thanking you. I pray that, instead of feeling anxiety, that she would simply lay her requests at your feet, casting all her cares on you, as you’ve asked her to do. Then, would you please surround her with your peace. May it completely surprise her and go beyond anything she’s ever experienced. Please watch over her heart and her mind like a sentry, warding off every last doubt and fear through your direct and might power. Please help her focus on these truths. May she ever be straight with herself and with me. May she continue to live a life focused on your righteous cause. Please keep her heart pure to serve. Keep her mind trained on your beauty. May she admire your grandeur every moment of every day. Please keep her one level above the storm by helping her focus on the highest causes and on praising you. May she grasp everything she’s learned, everything she’s received, everything she’s heard from your word, and everything she’s grown to appreciate in the best of others – and may she walk those truths every day of her life. And Lord, in all this and more, would you grant her true peace. In Jesus’ Name I pray, Amen.
