(Thanks for finding this list, Caleb.) But what about you? If YOU were to list some of the sharpest new books on leadership in your own opinion, which books would you recommend? Click “Comment” following the web version of this item and your peers will see your advice instantly.
Among the countless books on leadership used in the doctoral and masters degree programs in which I teach, the single title that offers the best overview of leadership is entitled “The Truth About Leadership.” Written by longtime leadership researchers James Kouzes and Barry Posner, both professors of leadership at Santa Clara University and seminal thought leaders in the field of leadership, the book is written for the leader practitioner in laymen’s term, yet is based solidly on many years of leadership research. This book is worth far more than its modest selling price!
Four that I would add:
The Painful Side of Leadership, Jeff Iorg, President of Golden Gate Seminary
The Leadership Wisdom of Jesus, Charles Manz
Crucial Conversations, Joseph Grenny and others
Five Dysfunctions of a Team, Patrick Lencioni
