Over the years, certain Brigada “travel-related” items seemed to generate a lot of feedback. Sometimes, the feedback even bordered on excitement. So, over time, we have watched feedback on those items and collected them into a kind of “all-star” cast of items. Today’s edition features an update on some of those all-star “Cool Tools for Christian Travelers and Those who Serve Them.”

I regularly use Trip It! (TripIt) to track the details of my trips. Forward your confirmation e-mails to “plans@tripit.com” from a registered e-mail address and it will group your details (flight, rental car, hotel…etc…) into trips. Web-based, with apps available for Android, iOS, Blackberry and Windows Phone. I’d recommend you check this one out. It helps you stay organized with all your details in one spot!
I have used Tripit as well. Good app. TripCase and Kayak also provide the same service. Try them out and choose the one that fits you best. My preference is Kayak as they provide a few more services without paying for the PRO version.
Other travel apps I use.
1. “iXpenseit” is great for tracking credit card and cash in multiple currencies.
2.”currency” for travel overseas.
3. When a flight is delayed or canceled “next flight” app will tell you all flights to your destination.
4. All major airlines have apps now. I use them all to help track schedules, flight updates and even seats and boarding.
5. Flight view will track your flights or other flights. You can see the airplane traveling on its route.
Others like “hotels.com”, “orbitz”, “Travelocity” and ” “Tripadvisor” all are free and helpful in planning a trip.
Great collection, Macon! Thanks!
