HOW DO WE REPLACE INFOBEAT? (EMAIL NEWS SOURCES)

Brigada autoresponder Looking for some news source that will replace InfoBeat? Want to get news into your inbox on a daily basis? David sought answers (in a previous Brigada Today) and has stood well on his promise, and thanks to his faithful follow-through, we can now publish his findings. Just send a note to: email-news@brigada.org to get his full report. Unfortunately, according to David, the replacements weren’t tremendous… but he does give some options. Check it out. Thanks David!

OPPORTUNITIES TO MINISTER TO MUSLIMS

Have the events of Sept. 11th put to an end any hopes of service in the Muslim world? Not on your life. For example, listen to Jeff, from Mission to Unreached Peoples: “Yes – we have numerous teaching opportunities (even invitations!) to serve the Lord in Muslim countries. Some positions have stipends, as well as additional financial help for housing and transportation.” Certainly the world situation compels us to be all the more vigilant in caring for the personal safety of our family and friends. But does that mean doors are closing. Quite the contrary. Listen again to Jeff, describing at the very least, mission opportunities that he’s trying to fill: “All you need to be an effective tool for the Lord is to have a heart for missions, a degree of any kind, and be a native English speaker. You will be blessed and you will be a blessing. The Lord can use you!” For more information, contact Jeff mupinfo@mup.org in the USA or via Net2Phone at 888-847-6950 or 206-781-3151 or check out http://www.mup.org.

not symbolPLEASE DON’T SUBSCRIBE US TO YOUR LIST — It’s always better to ask before manually force-adding anyone to your list-serve or mailing list. Recently, tons of well-meaning people have been subscribing Doug to their lists. Since he often travels overseas, he doesn’t join many of those, for obvious reasons (like being charged big-time for overseas access). So as a general rule, please don’t bulk-mail us! See the note above if you’d like to submit items for Brigada Today. Thanks for understanding. Bottom line: We will never create Brigada Today items from bulk mail. Bulk mail gets deleted immediately — sorry. Nothing personal. We suggest you apply the same standard to everyone. Ask first!

OPCWARNING ABOUT FORWARDING EMAILS — Please, before forwarding any kind of request (even if it says “please send this to all your friends”), please check to make sure it has a VERIFIABLE ORIGIN, a VERIFIABLE PURPOSE, and a VERIFIABLE CLOSURE (OPC). By following this simple approach, many “email viruses” could be nipped in the bud… at least in the Brigada family. More information about the full Brigada OPC protocol is available. Thank you.
