PAYPAL IS A BIG HIT

Paypal logo Goodness! PayPal is a hit. Apparently there are several of us who were looking for some easy way to pass funds across the Internet. An International Director of one mission org. wrote (in an unsolicited response), “…The information was quite helpful. About two years ago we put the Perspectives course online. Unfortunately we did not have an easy way for people to pay for the course. It seems PayPal may be the answer.” A missionary who lives next to a university responded, “I have rental property for students at Michigan State in East Lansing. I have been looking for a program like this that would enable them to pay this way. I hope it will work out this next lease term. I want to go to China to tutor in accent reduction and conversational English. While I am gone this will provide a way to collect payments.” And in regard to the referral bonus ($5 that PayPal sends to Brigada Today if you use the link below), one mission worker wrote, “I have been thinking about using them for a while; even wrote them a couple of questions and got a very good and detailed answers. I can think of no one that could use the fiver more than you.” [blushface blushing] Unfortunately, one Brigada participant reported that PayPal only works in the USA. :-( But we’ll keep researching and maybe find a system for international use too. Maybe we can find a good free system for online banking! In the meantime, once again, if you need to pay someone over the Internet — from now on you no longer need to resort to faxing your credit card information or whatever. Just use PayPal. It’s free! And in fact, you’ll get $5 free just for signing up, once your account is verified! Plus just by signing up, you’ll be sending $5 to Brigada Today too! I’ve studied this . . . and I can’t find a single “downside” to it. Free money for you . . . free money for Brigada. not symbolPLEASE DON’T SUBSCRIBE US TO YOUR LIST — It’s always better to ask before manually force-adding anyone to your list-serve or mailing list. Recently, tons of well-meaning people have been subscribing Doug to their lists. Since he often travels overseas, he doesn’t join many of those, for obvious reasons (like being charged big-time for overseas access). So as a general rule, please don’t bulk-mail us! See the note above if you’d like to submit items for Brigada Today. Thanks for understanding. Bottom line: We will never create Brigada Today items from bulk mail. Bulk mail gets deleted immediately — sorry. Nothing personal. We suggest you apply the same standard to everyone. Ask first!

OPCWARNING ABOUT FORWARDING EMAILS — Please, before forwarding any kind of request (even if it says “please send this to all your friends”), please check to make sure it has a VERIFIABLE ORIGIN, a VERIFIABLE PURPOSE, and a VERIFIABLE CLOSURE (OPC). By following this simple approach, many “email viruses” could be nipped in the bud… at least in the Brigada family. More information about the full Brigada OPC protocol is available. Thank you.
