WHERE DO WE GO FROM HERE… THROUGH THE WINDOW???
The folks from the Christian Information Network wrote this week to say, “As the month of October draws to a close, CIN would like to remind all Praying Through The Window III participants that there could be many Unreached Peoples in your own back yard. Thousands of students, refugees and professionals from the 10/40 Window live as expatriates in the countries of Western Europe and the United States. Take prayer journeys in your own city and region and pray for the Unreached Peoples living near you!

WHAT’CHA DOIN’ THIS WEEKEND? HOW ‘BOUT HEADIN’ INTO HIS HARVEST?
Global Outreach ’97 provides an opportunity for students and church members to learn about worldwide missions through plenary speakers, videos, seminars, worship, and interaction with over 40 mission agencies. This year, GO ’97 will be held October 31-November 2 near Eatonton, Georgia at Rock Eagle Conference Center. The main speakers are Richard Corley, a professor of Islam at Columbia International University who has spent most of his life ministering in the Middle East, and Chris Thomas, president of Ravencrest Bible School in Colorado (a Torchbearers missionary training school). Registration begins Friday afternoon at 2:00 with the first meal being served that evening. The conference ends after lunch on Sunday. The cost for the weekend is $60 and includes both housing and meals. For more information, call 803-735-8343 Ext. 3461 or email the info. office at serivmf@scsn.net.

LOOKING FOR SOMETHING IN A FOREIGN LANGUAGE?
Don’t forget to try SGM International. They’ve got Scripture booklets, leaflets, gospels and the NT readily available in 350 languages and have published Scriptures in over 800 languages? They have over 60 titles in English and each year produce over 100 new or revised titles in English and other languages. So especially if you’re from the S. Pacific, try calling 02 9899 3773, or Fax 02 9899 3773, or try mobile phone 019 922 696, or Email sgmoz@fl.net.au.

HAVE A LOOK AT BRIGADA-HOY
Speak Spanish?? Take a look at Brigada Hoy, by sending email to hub@xc.org with only this line in the text of the message:
get brigada briagda-hoy.970926
(This is a 28K file — by popular request, we’ll try to remember to tell file sizes from now on! Thanks for the idea, Jim!) You can get cleaner copies (with better formatting) by subscribing directly. Just send a follow-up note to hub@xc.org which reads…
That’s it! You’ll receive the Spanish version of Brigada Today as soon as it’s done each week. Pass the word to Spanish-speaking friends… and thanks to the great team of translators, working each week on these Spanish editions: Alexis Morales AMOR@xc.org, Garmisch, Germany; in concert with Andres Escobar, Ernesto Fuentes, Fernando Soto,Gary Gardner, Miguel Rivera y Moises Riffo.

MIXED REVIEWS ON THAT NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC CD SET
For fairness sake, I should point out that not everyone is liking that set of The Complete National Geographic. One Brigada Today participant wrote this week, “The text is simply unreadable, no contrast and terribly blotchy. Squinting and staring I just about might recognize most of the body text, but captions of pics you can simply forget. The printouts are even worse, even when printed on a 600dpi HP LaserJet 5.” (Thanks for the candid review, Heinz.) I guess it all boils down to your tolerance level — how bad do you want all that information at your fingertips, and how much are you willing to work to read it! :-)

WANT TO BE AN EFFECTIVE SENDING CHURCH?
Then take a look at The Missionary Training Service’s new booklet, “The Effective Sending Church.” This booklet will outline areas of work to be taken on by congregations (and mission agencies) interested in doing quality sending. It costs US$6.50 plus US$1.50 seamail or US$3.00 airmail from The Missionary Training Service, 18 Aston Way, Oswestry, Shropshire, SY11 2XY United Kingdom; Tel./Fax. +44 1691 653619; E-mail: coordmts@xc.org; Web page: http://www.btinternet.com/~ajg/mtshome.htm. Check it out! And… thanks for your continued great ministry, Ian! (This “find” came from Jerry Witt’s halusa@witty.com compilation of “how to start a missions agency” item from a few weeks back. Although few of us responded to Jerry, Ian’s booklet was a great discovery from Jerry’s search.)

YOU CAN WIN MILLIONS WITHOUT LEAVING YOUR HOUSE!!
Don’t pass up this chance to pray for the millions of Muslims in the world. You can win them through prayer! This is why YWAM-Mexico is making available the Spanish prayer guide, “30 Days of Prayer for the Muslims” — and World Christian News in the USA is making available the English version. This guide is designed for intercession for the Muslim world during the Islamic holy month of Ramadan. Ramadan is a time during which over one billion Muslims around the world join together in fasting and reflection. During this same month (January 1-30, 1998), the Body of Christ, His Church, will join together to intercede for the salvation of these Muslims.
The publishers of the Spanish version have asked that we send orders to their postal address (they’re not accepting e-mail orders!). Don’t forget to include how many guides you would like, your name, and the address to which to send the guides. Write Center for World Missions, Juventud Con Una Misión, Apdo. 1352, Oaxaca 68000, Oaxaca, MEXICO. Prices, including postage:
1-9 guides/US$2.50 each;
10-99 guides/US$2.25 each;
100 or more/US$2 each.
Please write checks in U.S. dollars to “Youth With A Mission”.
Within México, prices including postage:
1-9 guides/N$20 each;
10-99 guides/N$17.50 each;
100 or more/N$15 each.
They want you to deposit your payment in Cuenta Maestra #5290-9340-4949-2992, sucursal #549 of Banamex, to the name of Alejandra Muñoz, then fax them a copy of the deposit slip along with your order (name, address, and number of guides desired). Fax number: 91 (951) 5-79-27.
The English version is available from WorldChristian News, P.O. Box 26479, Colorado Springs, CO 80936 USA; Tel: 1 (719) 442-6409; Fax 1 (719) 380-0936; Email: wcn@xc.org. (Tip: If you’d rather not order the Spanish version from Mexico, WCN has those too.) Also see WCN for an accompanying video, a prayer guide for children, and a matching poster. Write wcn@xc.org to get the low-down on prices and bulk orders.

HERE’S AN EXAMPLE OF A WEB SITE FOR THE UNREACHED
Check out the new Tama page at http://users.mildura.net.au/users/mjackson/Tama/Tama.htm. This is apparently developed by a Joshua Project 2000-type team (i.e., a group which did a 7-day survey among the Tama). By translating their work into a web page, they gave a lasting gift for those who want to learn more about their chosen people. If security issues can be resolved for your group, why not attempt to do the same! Check out the Tama as a case study.
