It’s kind of like a private chat room for your group. You can have as many as you want. There are native apps for both iOS and Android, as well as a web platform. In fact, you can even use it via pure text messaging (without the app). Share photos, videos, emoji’s and more. It’s basically a way to chat with your groups — and it’s free! It didn’t appear that you would have much control over who joined or who messaged, but maybe there contexts like, say, a three-thirds group (or discovery Bible study) in which peer messaging would be ok. Happy to report I have used Groupme for two purposes, successfully.
1. Ministerial Alliance communication tool between church leadership.
2. Building volunteer teams for emergency management. In this role, the teams were easy to build and, when the mission ended, close out
Highly recommend, especially considering the price.
Our small group uses it to keep up with each other. Works great.
