Between 2009 and 2014, Kairos International recorded ‘oral Bibles’ in 45 languages. An oral Bible is a recording of 70 of the core stories of the Bible from Creation to Revelation. Check out
Kairos International is now looking for young people who will give one year of their life to go to an unreached people and make an oral Bible for that people. They will reportedly train you in how to make an oral Bible, work out the logistics of how to get you to your people group, help you raise your support, send you out and stand with you to fulfill God’s call. Training will take place September 15-25, 2014. For more info, email

Unfortunate that the title suggests “to MAKE oral BIBLES”.
1) ” 70 of the core stories of the Bible from Creation to Revelation ” is not the same as a Bible. It may be the core message, but it’s not a Bible
2) One year might be enough time to record Scriptures that are already translated; it’s doubtful that it’s enough time to competently work with local churches to identify, train and mentor local people who will translate.
3) If you talk with the agencies who do Bible Translation, they will tell you that producing the product is only part of the task. One must also work closely with local and national pastors and denominations to ensure that local pastors are adequate equipped to use Scriptures in the local language, especially where the local people speak three or four languages.
