This past weekend, I worked at a conference that featured a bookstore with tons of resources. One of those was Meg Crossman’s “Pathways to Global Understanding.” In it, she details the Biblical, Historical, Strategic, and Cultural dimensions of God’s plan for the nations.” Her basic approach is to include articles from various authors, then pull them together in such a way that the reader can walk away with a fuller understanding of God’s heart. The illustrations and artwork are beautiful. The maps and charts help make it very compelling. It has a bunch of Case Studies in the back of the 500-page handbook.

Have you tried this course? Did it work for your church? How would you compare it to the Perspectives Course (Learn more about Perspectives here…
If you’ve taken the full “Pathway” course, would you share your take on it by clicking “Comment” following the web version of this item? Thanks in advance for sharing your thoughts.
We used PathLight, which is the 5 week study of Pathways. Great resources and has some of the same material as Perspectives and Kairos.
The editor, Meg Crossman, is a great resource as well and sent me some study material to help with the group I facilitated with this material.
Of note, is that Meg Crossman also authors one of the articles in the Kairos, 4th ed., reader.
Hi Matt,
Just wondering if you could tell me how similar this course is to Perspectives. Is this a course someone could do on their own with just the book or is it necessary to attend a course? The Perspectives course is one of the ways to fulfill several of our Bible Requirements that our workers need before going to the field, so I’m curious to know if this would also fulfill the same requirements. Any information you could give me would be helpful. What’s the difference between PathLight and Pathways? Thanks. Pattie
