Last week we asked folks for their input on Ukraine. Virtually no one responded. Maybe that was because we were clueless, but I also wonder if it was because few cared. But now… now that this skirmish in the backwaters of the Black Sea has cost our Paralympics team the chance to go and compete, … now that we’ve seen the extent of the possibilities for violence (the organization I lead has just pulled its last family out of Crimea, and that’s a shame, but we felt like we had to do it because everybody advised us that our workers would be targets.
What is your organization doing about Crimea? How might this impact you? If you would be so kind, click “comment” following the web version of this article and, once again, please let us know your opinion. Thanks in advance for your help!
Hi Doug; As you know, we both spent a lot of time on the Crimea. For us and my Ukrainian friends, we are in a wait and see. We are not set up do deal with the military or political dialog. However, just like 23 years ago, we’ll enter when and how we can. The Crimean Tatars may be more open than ever for “friends.” They, above all people are fearful for a Russian future in Crimea. God may in fact be giving us a “second” opening.
Thanks for your response, Glen. Suspense is indeed rising in advance of the vote on the 16th.
WE HAVE NO OPTIONS. ECONOMY IS A BASKET CASE. 97% WANT TO REJOIN RUSSIA. THEY DO NOT REALIZE THE HARM TO THE. PUTIN WILL SEND MILLION TO MAKE THEM THINK THEY WILL BE BETTER. AND SOME WILL BE BETTER OFF. SOME WERE BETTER OFF BEFORE 1993.
LOOK FOR MORE UNREST IN THE DONETSK REGION. I HAVE BEEN THERE 6 TIMES AND THEY WANT TO BE BACK AS A PART OF RUSSIA.. MOST LIKELY RUSSIA WILL SEND GOONS TO CAUSE UNREST AND THEN RUSSIA WILL SEND TROOPS TO QUELL THE “REBELLION” I HOPE NOT BUT IT IS LIKELY.
EITHER WAY THE PEOPLE NEED GOD MORE THAN EVER AND OUR PEOPLE PLAN TO KEEP
ON KEEPING ON.
