Suppose someone were searching for resources such as a Bible Dictionary and/or a Commentary in another language. Are there online resources with lists and/or links to learn about and purchase these kinds of books? If so, where would you send them? Please click “Comment” and give us your best recommendation. Thanks! (Dean, stand by. We’ll find you a source.)
The entire Thru The Bible commentary by J. Vernon McGee has been translated and adapted into French. We make it available in both audio and text at: http://www.chimensdevie.info . The TTB series is available in over 100 languages, with a number of these offering the material in text via their websites. Would be happy to provide links to others if anyone is interested.
The Through the Bible link is actually:

(there was a small typo in the first link that Tom Streeter sent)
Sorry, I wasn’t awake when I typed the link
If you have the application MacSword (Mac – it might be called Eloquent now) or E-Sword (Windows) you can use these modules found here (http://www.crosswire.org/sword/modules/). they have translations of different resources. And it’s all free.
Enjoy! and I hope you find what you’re looking for.
The question was specific to French, but I’m curious if there are ideas people have more generically.
I’m working with the Albanian language and trying to produce a web-site with good Bible-study and theological resources for the evangelical church in Albania.
I already knew someone with a passion for Grudem’s Systematic Theology, so that made our list quickly. But what have people found in a Bible Dictionary that is really effective for translation? What other resources seem to make sense for the first rung of the ladder on a resource web-site?
I agree that e-sword is an excellent tool. http://www.e-sword.net/ you can download bibles and helps in many languages for free and only copyright materials such as an NIV bible cost. Everything else is free. I just looked on their website and did not find French Bible helps, just the Bible is there for French. You might write them, they had a Haitian Creole Bible I needed but it was not listed on the website, they had to give me a link to download it.
A good source for buying French Christian books (including Bible dictionaries and commentaries) if you are in Africa is Livr’Afrique. Here is their website…
http://livrafrique.com/
I have worked in Brazzaville, Congo, for 10 years and they have been a good source for our work.
I know of this site: Éditions Clé. It has lots of Christian resources, including commentaries, available for sale (and some for free).
At the web site http://www.bibleenligne.com/
the second button in the left column goes to three Bible commentaries in French. The direct link to them is http://www.bibleenligne.com/Commentaire_biblique/Commentaire%20biblique.htm
To get to a given passage you click buttons in the left column, not the blue typeface in the middle.
fantastic post, very informative. I wonder why the other specialists of this sector don’t notice this. You should continue your writing. I am confident, you’ve a great readers’ base already!
