2) THE BEST OF MISSIONS-CRYPTOGRAPHY — Here it is… everything you’ve always wanted to learn about missions cryptography but were afraid to ask. A while back, some loyal and faithful Brigada participants got together to discuss encryption and other related topics . . . and they just kept on meeting! Well here’s a compilation of a “best-of the dialog” over the last year+. Folks on the list have ok’d it for public distribution. Thanks to John Hanna for putting it together for us here! To get a copy, just send a message to <missions-crypto@brigada.org>. Be aware that the file is 136K.</missions-crypto@brigada.org>

3) TRAIN TO LEAD SHORT-TERM MISSION TRIPS — There is still time to register for the 5th Annual Short-Term Ministry Leaders Training Seminar conducted by COMMIT Ministries and Gateway Mission Training Center, April 25-27 in Honolulu, Hawaii. This is a 3-day intensive interactive training seminar that provides each participant with proven, cutting-edge methods and information; everything needed to implement an effective short-term ministry program or augment existing programs. This seminar covers most all short-term issues including in depth pre-field training, team dynamics, on-site materials, and comprehensive debriefing. Since 1997, more than 350 short-term mission leaders from churches and agencies have completed this program and have had very positive results. You can too. The seminar will be held in the Penthouse at the Outrigger Waikiki Surf Hotel; cost is only $199 which includes materials and tuition. Other short-term ministry resources will be made available including an on-site interactive training tool that has been tested and proven in the field as well as a privately published team leaders debriefing manual. A special 3 night and meal package is available at a cost of $199 (double occupancy) and low cost airfare is available through COMMIT Ministries Travel. Contact Greg or Ray for registration materials or more information by e-mail: <commit@juno.com>.</commit@juno.com>

7) SHARE YOUR WISDOM FOR FURLOUGH “DE-STRESSING” — Visiting family, friends, and supporters is a blessing and a “stressing” for young families. Young children don’t always remember life before the field and the constant moving, visiting, and being “on stage” is difficult – especially for those short 1-3 month furloughs. Can you share your wisdom and practical experience? Phil & his wife have two boys [age 4-6] and they need to reduce the anticipated stress of traveling and being in people’s homes. What are your good ways to make less obtrusive housing arrangements, saving money, scheduling visits & reports and connecting with people? How do you insure quality time with family and friends who have busy lives and maybe haven’t seen you in a long time? Send your responses to <phil@lookforward.org> and he’ll compile them and make them available in a few weeks. (Thanks Phil!)</phil@lookforward.org>

8) COMMUNICATING BY DRAMA — The folks at ‘Dramashare’ are in the final stages of an exciting project, writing a manual on the use of non-verbal dramatic ministry in cross-cultural circumstances. This manual, “3C – Cross-Cultural Creativity” will cover what short-term missions teams need to understand about this type of outreach, preparation for the ministry, training required. They will also have many non-verbal scripts included in the manual.

They are looking for input from those who have experience in cross-cultural ministry, also from those looking for this kind of guidance, what specific information are you looking for? The more input they receive the greater the potential that the 3C program will have the greatest impact on your needs. Write to: contactus@dramashare.org .
