1) FINISHERS, CANADA-STYLE? — Here’s a Round Table to consider launching a “Finishers” movement in Canada, to be held at the TIM Center in Toronto, Thursday, April 11, 2002. Canadian mission agency and church leaders interested this no-obligation consultation should visit
http://www.finishers.org/canada for information and registration. Contact: Bob Morris <bmorris@tyndale.ca>.</bmorris@tyndale.ca>
The Finishers Project in the US is a partnership of over 75 leading mission agencies aching for more laborers for His harvest. The purpose of the Round Table is to consider together the merits of launching a similar Canadian movement run by Canadian leaders. The full range of disciplines is needed in missions. Adults of all ages are healthy and well prepared to be involved in the enterprise to disciple the nations.

2) NEED ENGLISH FOR CHRISTIAN SERVICE? — The Operation Mobilisation language school in the UK is open for anyone, but specializes in teaching English to those who need it for Christian service. That might be for missions, for Bible College, for church work or sharing the gospel with someone. Daily devotions help you to grow spiritually, and English classes help your English to grow. Learn about living in another culture. Study with others from different countries. Check out their website at

5) OPEN LETTER TO MISSION EXECUTIVES — Read a letter from a mission leader who writes to query why, seven years into the Internet, every mission has a website to communicate with its own supporters, but only a tiny handful are involved in using the Web for its God-given strength: targeted evangelism to non-Christian groups. The letter is available for re-publication:
http://www.web-evangelism.com/mission/openletter.php
He also points out that the Internet uniquely allows returned and retired missionaries to maintain a witness to their country of service. The letter also offers the online Web Evangelism strategy resource for missions to use:
http://www.web-evangelism.com/mission
“If you can use this site to encourage both your staff and supporters to use the Web for evangelism, I believe – indeed promise – they will find an exciting and fulfilling ministry that can literally touch millions,” he writes. (Go for it, Tony!)

6) MUSIC TO REACH UNREACHED PEOPLE GROUPS — Would you like to help a group develop indigenous Christian songs? Consider taking a week-long ethnomusicology course at CIT in N. Carolina (April 29-May 3). The focus is on empowering a community to make culturally-appropriate Christian music, and to use it effectively in evangelism, worship, and church planting. You do not need to be a musician to benefit from this course. Some attention will be given to music of each student’s geographical interest. See
http://www.citi.org or write <neeleypl@netscape.net> for information.</neeleypl@netscape.net>

9) FROM MY 12-YEAR-OLD — Here’s the latest global observation from my 12-year-old, who is always looking to try to make me smile:
You think gasoline is expensive?
Diet Snapple 16oz for $1.29 = $10.32 per gallon
Lipton Ice Tea 16oz for $1.19 = $9.52 per gallon
Gatorade 20oz for $1.59 = $10.17 per gallon
Ocean Spray 16oz for $1.25 = $10.00 per gallon
Pint of milk 16oz for $1.59 = $12.72 per gallon
STP Brake Fluid 12oz for $3.15 = $33.60 per gallon
Vick’s Nyquil 6oz for $8.35 = $178.13 per gallon
Pepto Bismol 4oz for $3.85 = $123.20 per gallon
Whiteout .7oz for $1.39 = $25.42 per gallon
Scope 1.5oz for $0.99 = $84.48 per gallon
And this is the REAL KICKER……
Evian water 9oz for $1.49 = $21.19 per gallon …..$21.19 FOR WATER!!
So next time you’re at the pump, be glad your car doesn’t run on Nyquil, or Scope, or Whiteout!!!! (Note: I searched for a while for the original source for this quote, but it’s spread all over the web and who knows who originally wrote it! )
