1) NEED ANONYMOUS WEBMAIL? — Now you can get it . . . and the staff people are folks you can trust. The leadership at Global Resources for Computing (GRC) actually hails from MAF’s old “xc.org” legacy. Down through the past few years, these are the same guys that have consistently tried to fuel information technology for global missions. Now working under the banner of GRC, they’ve set up a SSL (Secure) Webmail service to beat the band. It’s anonymous — meaning that you could use it for sensitive messages, where higher standards of security are required. This new service will offer SSL Based Webmail, POP3 and IMAP services. The service is due to roll out April 20th, 2002. Currently GRC is accepting applications for Beta Testers to test the new service in field type use. There is no charge for the beta testers to use the service during the beta testing period (Mar 12 – Apr 18th). If you or your organization is interested in Beta Testing this new service, please contact GRC at (909) 795-3877 or FAX (909) 795-0327 or email <info@grcomputing.net>. This offer is open to individuals and organizations involved in non-profit humanitarian organizations, or faith based ministries. GRC will be offering the service on a monthly subscription basis. The fees will be affordable for individuals and there will be price breaks for multiple addresses or corporate users. Read more at http://www.grcomputing.net</info@grcomputing.net>

7) NEW MULTI-MEDIA MINI-MISSIONS COURSE — Mission ONE leaders say their new multi-media course is like a Perspectives all rolled up in a dynamic, live 6-hour seminar. It’s purpose is to help mobilize local churches in North America for missions — and serve the unique vision of the local church family at which it is presented. They bill it as being “Perfect for mission conferences, Operation WorldView covers the Biblical, Historical, Cultural, and Strategic aspects of global missions.” Check out the Mission ONE web site:

9) TRAIN IN PRIMARY HEALTH CARE — Lifewater International (on the web at:

http://www.lifewater.org )

will be holding “Participatory Hygiene Education Training” seminars in April and July 2002. The seminars are specifically designed to give short-term Christian workers an alternative to traditional missions trips focused on curative medical clinics. Short-term overseas medical clinics typically focus on western style curative care without addressing the root causes of disease. Participatory Hygiene Education involves people in the local community in the process of determining their health problems, how to prevent them and how to train others in the process. Based on Medical Ambassadors International Community Health Evangelism program, Lifewater’s hygiene training program integrates scriptural and physical principles to address the cycle of disease and death related to water, sanitation and hygiene practices. For more information or for a registration packet, contact Trudy at Lifewater. 1-888-543-3426 or 1-805-772-0600 or email <trudy@lifewater.org>. The April class will be held in California and the July class will be held in Texas. Registration deadline for the April class is trudy@lifewater.org>April 1, 2002.

10) SCHOOL OF FRONTIER MISSIONS IN SOUTH ASIA — Do you have a heart for the unreached in South Asia? The YWAM Frontier Missions Centre of South Asia is hosting it’s next School of Frontier Missions from July 1, 2002 – September 20, 2002. This school is addressing the challenge of reaching the 4,500+ unreached people groups in South Asia by training and equipping people to join teams. In this school you will learn practical skills and attitudes necessary to effectively see a church plant movement among an unreached people group. Course topics are taught by experienced South Asian and international speakers. A two year internship working among an unreached people group will follow the 12-week classroom phase. For more information or to receive an application, email <loveupgs@pqsa.net> or .phulpakhru@pqsa.net></loveupgs@pqsa.net>

11) STATS NEEDED: % GOING TO THE UNREACHED — One of Caleb Project’s hallmarks has been the “World-View Demonstration,” a skit which uses volunteers to illustrate demographics such as world religions, level of gospel-reachedness, and missionary sending. Nate Wilson is helping with a revision of this demonstration to update the statistics from the time the skit was developed twenty years ago, and is looking for current documentation which could substantiate (or update) the statistic of one out of ten missionaries going to the unreached part of the world. Can you help him find up-to-date documentation on what percentage of foreign missionaries are sent to unreached parts of the world? Send Nate an email if you have information for him: <nwilson@cproject.com>, and yes, Nate will get back with us when he has his answer!nwilson@cproject.com>

12) ENGLISH CURRICULUM — Many of you have heard of and used the EFCM International Network ESL curriculum Adventures In English in your outreach programs. This Bible-based curriculum has been used in many countries by missionaries and national host churches. They have now cleaned up the 12 English lessons so that they can be used in creative access countries. International Network also has a non-Bible reading book for intermediate and advanced readers. The book, called Pathfinders, contains 12 short biographies of American who changed the way we live. Each reading lesson also includes related questions and activities. Send an e-mail to Don <donatoec@cs.com> for more information. Ask for the Adventures in English curriculum, the Clean Adventures book or Pathfinders.
