I was a teenager when I first read God’s Smuggler by Brother Andrew, and it sparked a fire in me to pursue Jesus on a whole new level. His stories awakened a love for the nations, and eventually helped me launch a ministry. His testimony deeply marked me to live my life fully surrendered to the Lord. – Sarah from https://www.brotherandrewlegacy.org/share-a-memory
Most of us have read God’s Smuggler by Brother Andrew. In the book, he gives an account of when he was a young man who risked his life to smuggle Bibles through the borders of closed nations—such an inspiring book, full of Holy Spirit intervention and miraculous events. Brother Andrew, one of the all-time heroes of faith, recently passed from this life to eternity. Anne van der Bijl, a Dutch evangelical known to Christians worldwide as Brother Andrew, died at 94 on September 27, 2022. He has inspired so many. May his legacy continue to live on!

How has he impacted your life? Please comment.
I recently reread God’s Smuggler and it stood out to me how he did things according to the “Royal Way” of Jesus. And how the Spirit rebuked him if he attempted something in his own way.
I read God’s Smuggler as a teen. (I’m so thankful for a godly mother who loved to read! God’s Smuggler was on our family bookshelves.) It was very inspiring to me to see how God worked and how Brother Andrew trusted Him. I didn’t feel called to do Bible smuggling (as I did feel called to Bible translation from reading another of Mom’s books, The Dayuma Story) but Brother Andrew’s story and faith helped me step out to be a faith-based missionary, specifically in Bible translation.
It was a pleasure to read God’s Smuggler out-loud to our sons while we homeschooled, too!
I thank God for Brother Andrew and his story.
