“X-SPURTS ARE US”
Are you considered by your friends a “PC Expert?” Here’s how you can tell —

1. the person in the cubicle next door asks your help installing a new program
2. you’re the one asked to install the new printer
3. it’s your phone that rings when someone sees a “fatal error.”

If any of these conditions is true, you need our new “X-SPURTS ARE US” help file. PC Magazine just carried an article that might help! We’re making it available to you as an excerpt on this conference, because it should help us set some uniform ideas for helping organize chaos out of this PC-madness. If you’re interested, download it by sending a message to hub@xc.org that simply says:

download now

Next time someone rings your PC-chimes, you just might be glad you did! It’s 7K — and it contains suggestions on everything from how to organize your hard drive to how to set up an emergency boot disk.

GLOSSARY OF SYMBOLS… “TAKE TWO”
clarification Yikes:-)…. Last week we sent the Brigada Today with the “quoted printable” switch turned “on” (quite by accident) so all our glossary symbols were scrambled! Sorry if you thought we were =3Dserious=3D when you saw all those “=3D” symbols! Let’s try it again….

_Title_ — These underscores indicate a title or a book, film, or boat. In “real” writing, the title would be underlined or italicized.

=emphasis= — These equal signs indicate emphasis. In real writing, the word would be printed in bold.

:-) — This symbol (an ’emoticon’) represents a grin or a “chuckle.” In real writing, . . . well . . . in real writing I guess the author wouldn’t grin or chuckle. :-)

:-( — You guessed it. An internet sad face. You kind of have to turn your head sideways to the left to see these. :-)

< > — These pointed braces indicate the beginning and ending of internet email addresses or Worldwide Web URLs.

[sic] — This word is placed after an item quoted when the author wants to indicate that there’s a mistake in the quotation and the mistake is being retransmitted precisely as it occurred in the original citation.

!!! — This symbol is often used in Brigada Today to indicate a really enthusiastic sentence. Email seems so bland, we figure you have to do something to spruce it up. :-)

Clearer???

LOOKING FOR TRIBAL TRAINING FOR THE PHILIPPINES?

TIME TO PRAY FOR ALGERIA
More than 75,000 Algerian men, women and children have been brutally massacred over the last five years in an ongoing conflict in the name of religion and politics. The international community has for the most part washed its hands of the violence, preferring not to get involved in trying to find a solution. What Algeria and its 30 million people need more than anything else is focused intercession and spiritual warfare for deliverance from the powers of darkness and destruction operating behind the politics and economics of the situation. There is only a tiny Christian community of about one half of one percent. Pray for a political solution which brings peace, reconciliation and an end to the ongoing massacres of thousands of people. Also remember those who have become disillusioned with Islam because of the blood shed under its name. May these become serious seekers of the Truth and accept Him who is the truth. Pray for those who are worshipping in underground groups, for protection and growth spiritually, numerically etc. Many thousands have turned to the Lord among the Berbers largely through supernatural revelations of Jesus Christ.

30 DAYS MUSLIM PRAYER BY E-MAIL
The Global Communications Track is again delighted to compliment the 30-Days Muslim prayer focus by offering the 1998 e-mail edition. Taken from the original booklets, the e-mail version is a one-page extract from both the Adult and Kids booklets with the full prayer points present. Designed to be easy to read and accessible for those who can’t otherwise join millions of Christians to pray, organizers hope that as with other years this will be a big hit. The 30-Days Muslim prayer focus runs January 1-30 ’98 coinciding with Ramadan. Last year some 10 million Christians were estimated to have joined this annual global prayer event. Only God knows the answers to our prayers as we have joined together around a common theme. A great joy has been to see not just individuals and families pray together, but also prayer groups and churches. Make sure everyone you know gets hold of these prayer guides, either the booklet or the e-mail version and let us again, believe God for great things. What a great way to begin the New Year!! To receive the e-mail edition, send an e-mail to HUB@XC.Org with just the following two words in the message:
