They understand how to motivate, but just as importantly, how to communicate. They have captured the imagination of generating global content — and there has to be an opportunity for The Good News here somewhere. They also understand how to run a successful IndieGoGo campaign, not to mention design a game-changing device. With over a half-million dollars raised online, the Lantern (and the whole Outernet concept) is on course to change the way over half the world (the part without Internet) get its information. Obviously, I’m also excited about the fact that they’ve more than doubled their original campaign goal, meaning that a lot of other people are excited about the project too. We can learn so much from this international team of workers: The way they express their ideas, the concepts they’re embodying — they have so much potential for helping us learn how to unpack the Good News that can TRULY change the world.
