It’s an honest question. Are certain workers unhappy because of certain skills, views, or behaviors that they’ve learned? If they learned different ways, could their level of happiness, and even job satisfaction, improve? I considered this question recently after receiving an email from Kelly and Michèle O’Donnell, in which they referred to an article about “10 Things Happy People Do Differently,” by Paula Davis-Laack (featured in the Huffington Post, 3 Jan 2013). Yes….happiness and fulfillment can be learned.
These kinds of training materials are worth including in our orientations. A happy worker is a hardy worker!
