Lately, we’ve been reading a bit on organizational dynamism. It seems like dynamism stems from several core traits or best practices, first and foremost the Holy Spirit. We first need to listen to God in prayer and through the Word. Hearing from Him first is clutch. How else will we increase organizational dynamism? We’re thinking – ambition (or will), unified organizational identity, sense of shared responsibility, an active organization, meaningful and effective values, a learning and adapting culture, and a commitment to grace and mutual respect among a wide spectrum of backgrounds. I love this type of thinking because if we let it, we will find the end of our religious search for truth. Trying to put man’s organizational dynamism together with the Holy Spirit misses the whole purpose Jesus died on the cross. What do I mean?
Very simply, Jesus lived a perfect life in the flesh, died because of the wrath of God, and rose again to live forever more as King of Kings and Lord of Lords. The Holy Spirit of the resurrected Christ wants to come into our lives and save us from our human organizational dynamism. He wants to destroy our organizational dynamism, our ambition, our will, our unified organizational identity, meaningful and effective values, trying to learn to adapt to cultures, and committing to gracefully respecting and mutually accepting all backgrounds.
All of man’s wisdom to live in an organizational dynamism with ambition, a will, unifying organizational identity, etc. is just religion. It is nothing more than trying to be the Holy Spirit in our organization and do His work via the power of our selfish nature. Once the Spirit of Christ comes into a life that has surrendered their will to Him, love is the predominant factor for guiding their life. When two people have surrendered their life over to Christ and trust His Spirit to produce eternal love, there is no need for the wisdom of man any longer to find unity.
God’s word gives us the new organizational dynamism for a Christian in John 13:34-35 “A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.” To know this kind of love, one must surrender over their selfish wisdom and consider it dead and trust and believe only in the eternal wisdom of our loving God.
