  1. WERE YOU ONE OF THE 100 ORDERS FOR WORLDVUE? — GMI tells us that within the 24 hours following the Brigada announcement, over 100 Brigada participants placed orders via fax, or email, or phone. Whew! Somebody’s wanting to do some big-time missions mobilization! :-) If you were one of those who placed an order, you already know that WorldVue is a Great Commission Map Collection containing over 500 maps and graphs in popular digital graphics formats. All the missions themes from GMI’s overhead transparency sets are included, plus political maps of each country and region. View them on screen, print them, or copy and paste them into your electronic documents. No royalty fees are required to use the images for most Christian ministry purposes. For Windows and Mac, WorldVue sells for $39.95, but for Brigada Today subscribers we have negotiated the special price of *$29.95* (plus shipping and tax) for orders placed for just 3 additional days… (through June 22 only). To order, go to http://www.gmi.org/brigada or contact Lorri at or phone 719-531- 3599. </info@gmi.org>

  2. SEVENTY-TWO HOURS — That’s how long you’ve got. So… once again… if you want tons of maps and charts that you can turn around and paste into your Powerpoints, take up to 71 hours to decide — then in the last hour remaining, order WorldVue. There’s so much stuff on this CD that I’d venture a guess that you’d *have* to find at least one map you can use in your next PowerPoint… or … like I said last week… ask them for your money back. They’ll be glad to refund it. I think. ‘Course, I didn’t exactly *ask* them, but I bet they would. Probably. :-)

  3. NEED A TENTMAKING PROFESSION? — Try this one. Tell <gary@global-d.biz> about your interest and qualifications/vision. He’ll either coach you — and/or give you an idea to get you started. His best-selling idea lately? 3D imagery for ID, phone, bank cards. Sound far out? Probably. But try him. Maybe you’ll be selling 3D stuff 6 months from now and you’ll be able to give a tithe back to Brigada as a sponsor! :-) </gary@global-d.biz>

  4. A WORD FROM OUR SPONSOR — Have you tried PayPal yet? Many are using it to effortlessly transfer money over the Internet. There have been times when the volume of users has forced PayPal to upgrade its services… but they seem to always catch up. Lately, we’ve noticed great speed on all transactions. PayPal lets users send and receive money online. PayPal charges the money to your credit card or bank account. It’s faster, safer and easier than mailing a check. Plus, assuming you qualify, as soon as you sign up and complete the bonus requirements, PayPal will automatically add $5 to your balance! What’s more, if you sign up using the link below, PayPal will also donate $5 in cash to Brigada! If you decide not to use PayPal, just transfer the $5 to your bank account and walk away at any time. No strings attached. Click on this link to sign up and see for yourself: https://www.paypal.com/refer/pal=DLucas%40TeamExpansion.org Remember… last we heard… residents of some countries were still having trouble qualifying. We hope yours is on “the approved list”.

  5. LANGUAGE TRAINING FOR NEW MISSIONARIES, IN TORONTO – Slated for June 16-28, this ten day seminar helps you to identify your own learning style, understand your strengths and weakness in language learning. You will leave equipped with more than enough natural and easily implemented learning activities, projects, techniques, skills & strategies. There are still a few places open for new participants. Contact Robert <missionprep@sympatico.ca> or call 416-284-5645 for more information. </missionprep@sympatico.ca>

  6. FUNDING FOR NON-AMERICAN STUDENTS IN THE USA — Do you have a national colleague or counterpart . . . maybe one that you’re training . . . that you’d love to send to the USA for further training? (Maybe your mission organization doesn’t even permit that . . . or maybe it does.) Either way, are there specific sources to which you’d send these kinds of candidates? If you’d feel comfortable sharing those, we have a compiler willing to gather the information, then make it available later to those in similar situations. Specifically, we’re looking for information about scholarships, grants, work opportunities or anything similar. Please send any tips to . She’ll assemble the information and forward it to us here at Brigada Today. for later publishing. </handsfeet81@hotmail.com>

  7. INSTANT CONFIRMATION OF SHORT-TERM INSURANCE COVERAGE — Have you waited until the last minute to get health insurance for your team? 8. PRAYER & FASTING FOR KIDS — A lighthearted, fast paced seven and a half minute video narrated by kids for kids, ages 4-9, encourages kids to fast and pray for other nations. The heart of the video is Isaiah 58’s emphasis on the poor and needy, and having a heart for justice. Many non-essential food items and approaches are suggested in a light touch, kid friendly way. You can order Prayer and Fasting for Kids, postage paid for $14.00 (US) by writing Joey and Fawn Parish, 540 W. Highland Drive, Camarillo, California USA 93010 or email . Please let them know you heard about it in Brigada Today! They sometimes send a gift to cover our expenses here! </joey@gracebridge.org>

  9. PBASE: A GREAT PLACE TO SHOW YOUR PICS — So have you ever visited PBase? For now, it’s a free place to host your pix. Maybe they’ll charge someday . . . but for now, they function by donation. Fast. Simple. Smooth. Free.

  10. ALTERNATIVES TO “X10 VIDEO” YAHOO! GROUPS — Searching for an alternative list-serve? Tired of the infamous “x10 wireless webcam ads” on Yahoo!Groups? Here are at least 3 options. For one, try InJesus.com. They offer a free service, and while there are still ads at least they are for Christian products and materials. PLUS if anyone in the group orders a product advertised, the group owner gets 10% of the price. Not bad. For more information, check out http://www.injesus.com . (Thanks for the testimony, Niel!) Peter suggested http://hundred-acre-woods.com/lists/index.html . Pay them $10/month and say goodbye to ads forever. Another option: Peter overcame the ads by placing a small jpeg picture (any picture) at the start of the message. He wrote, “If I sent out just an attached picture on it’s own the ad would appear, but placing a small jpeg in the message somehow eliminated the ads.” Worth a try! (Thanks for the tip Peter!)
