Roca Blanca Spanish Language School teaches Spanish within the context of the largest concentration of unreached people groups in the Western Hemisphere! In Mexico’s southern state of Oaxaca, there are 16 major language groups with 155 dialects, many within a half day journey from its location on the Pacific coast. Hi Joe. If we understand you correctly, you’re trying to train your short-termers to speak Spanish, in preparation for your short-term trip, right? There are a number of readily-available helps for those wishing to learn Spanish. You could start, actually, by visiting your largest nearby bookstore (e.g., Barnes and Noble). They would have several materials available with audio CD’s and pocket dictionaries. This would be great homework in advance of (or following up on) your 18 hours of instruction. As far as that 18 hours itself, why not simply speak to your local high school or college. They might have a set of used textbooks that you could use as a guide.
Online, there are scads of resources. For example, here’s a site where you can sign up to download 30 free lesson plans for teaching/learning Spanish. In addition, there are interactive games, reference books, and other materials — again, all free.
