What are you hearing from the world of Bible translation? This past week, a Bible translation agency leader shared, “The number of Bible translation projects starting per year has increased to over 300 per year. The list of languages needing Bible translation to start should approach zero by 2028. The recorded rate of completed chapters still shows that it will take until 2047 before 99.96% of the world’s population gets at least the New Testament. But part of that is an inability to collect data on chapter completion in real time. Countries like China have greatly increased their effectiveness of preventing the work so we still have huge challenges ahead of us.” What are you hearing? Let’s pray this week for the Bible soon to come to people of all languages.
