Let’s make a master list of the 100 scriptures (or whatever number we discover) that motivate us toward missions. The one favor we ask is, before typing in your suggestion, please scroll through the comments to make sure your scripture hasn’t already been listed. So it will help if we put the scripture first, at the very beginning of the item — like this:
Matthew 28:19-20 – Probably the most well-known of the “Great Commission” scriptures. Note that Jesus told us to make disciples of all nations, not just some. By using the word, “nations,” Christ’s hearers would have understood that He was referring to people groups outside the Jews themselves. Also, note that He commanded that we “teach them to obey,” rather than just transferring content or knowledge. Joining His Kingdom prompts action steps.”
[end]
So there’s the “free square” on the Bingo grid. Everyone would have listed Matthew 28. Can we find 99 more? Thanks for any help you can give. Please help us get the word out to others and let’s make a master list to beat the band!
Here are about 50 verses to get us started. https://globalfrontiermissions.org/gfm-101-missions-course/biblical-basis-of-missions/
Wow Grant – what a great list.
Psalms 2:8 – ‘Ask of Me, and I will surely give the nations as Your inheritance,
And the very ends of the earth as Your possession.
Romans 10:THIRTEEN-15. Yes, Grant, I agree with Charlotte that your list is a great one! Notice that I added verse thirteen to your Romans 10:14-15 passage. I believe it give a more complete thought to the process of missions. It gives the goal…the objective…of all missions activity, the salvation of the lost.
PSALM 67:1-2: God be merciful to us and bless us….That Your way may be known on earth, Your salvation among all nations.
Interesting: There are only three people in the Bible who say, “God bless me.” And, this unknown Psalmist is the only one who says why he wants God’s blessing.
