This past Christmas, my buddy, Greg, thought little of it when his 9-year-old son, Joshua, asked for some wood for a project. Greg dutifully found him some boards in the garage. Then on Christmas Eve, Greg’s wife, Heather, asked for lessons on the electric drill because she “needed to teach Joshua.” I’m sure Greg swallowed hard, but Heather, being the great wife and mother that she is, assured him it would be ok. Christmas morning brought the big reveal. Joshua had built (totally on his own) a huge wooden letter “H,” assembled from those boards, bearing the handwritten words, “My Dad: My Hero!” You might sometimes think that your efforts for the Father are meager. But apparently that’s why He gave us free will. Accordingly, never underestimate how much it means to the Father when you do your best in a project for Him.
