This December, learn more about the challenges and opportunities in finishing the task of taking the Good News to Unengaged, unreached people groups. The unengaged are those without any chance of hearing the Good News, because essentially no one (fewer than one worker in 50,000) is there telling the Gospel in a way that locals can understand. By the way, when we mentioned last week that “it could be that every single remaining unengaged unreached people group will have become the focus of someone, somewhere in the world — for prayer AND onsite presence, with a strategy for church multiplication,” we meant to say that it might be possible for every group on the Finishing the Task List of unengaged people groups. Although many are cooperating with FTT in maintaining their data, there are several versions of lists of unreached peoples in addition to FTT’s list of unengaged groups. So we didn’t mean to suggest that the Great Commission would be accomplished, but rather, that one agency’s list might be ‘claimed,’ so to speak.
