Suppose you’re writing a book for churches and agencies to use in outreach. Is there a “best clearinghouse” or a best approach to publishing such a book, to enable the widest outreach and maximize the number of the right workers who will see it? Are we at a point now that we skip the whole “printed page” idea — and go totally digital/kindle? …or do people still read printed books? Please share your opinion and best resources by clicking comment following the web or app version of this item. Thanks in advance for any help you might give.
I believe the best approach at this point in time (in 2018) is to publish a book with a hybrid publisher (one who is funded by the author, but offers the benefits of a traditional publishing house in editing, design, distribution and marketing).
As a hybrid publisher, most of our authors are opting to go straight to digital AND printed, but with a print on demand model through a distribution channel. This makes their books available online in places like Amazon, Barnes and Noble, Walmart, etc (all over the world) in both ebook and print form. And if they want printed copies to use for a conference or church Bible study, it is easy to order those copies.
This method has greatly reduced the price of book publishing. Our company, Master Design Publishing, has been publishing for only pastors, missionaries, ministries, churches, and mission agencies since 1986. Because we publish for those in ministry, our prices are set much lower than other options available. Check out our website for more info.
In the past I wrote for publishers, but no longer. I self-publish through Createspace (printing on demand), which is a company of Amazon. I only use Amazon for distribution online. No stores. If you search Dr. Andrew Jackson on Amazon.com, you can see a list of my books. If you would like to connect please email me, as they are numerous other reasons I publish this way.
