Dr. Laura Mae Gardner (SIL/Wycliffe) has written extensively on caring for missionaries and cross-cultural workers. Now, she has prepared a member care guidebook that just might set a benchmark for the state of the art. We promoted it previously, but we were given a production-level website that had since been unhooked. Fortunately, of all things, Marti, one of the editors at Mission Catalyst (our great friends ans sister publication), happened by and provided an updated link. (Thanks Marti!)

It’s a kind of manual which defines the vision, the challenge, and a host of practical case studies and tools to help us get started. It is now ready for purchasing.
Thanks for the shout-out, Doug and Tina. I was trying to track down info about how to get the book and kept stumbling on the broken link. Figured posting the right one on your item in Brigada would help others with the same problem! I watched “Larrie” present a webinar about the book for Missio Nexus this week and was intrigued… especially since it’s pulls on experience providing member care for so many non-Westerners. Apparently, though written by Americans, it was first published in Indonesian and came out of seminars done in both Korea and Indonesia.
Cool story!
