For those interested in orality, there’s nothing like crafting a great story precisely for the relevant context. And one of the most effective ways to prime the story-crafting pump is to study existing story sets that others have crafted. If you have a great collection of stories, please click comment below this item on the web. Here are two to get us started.

Where do YOU go for story sets?
We use storying on Sunday morning with clients at a local recovery center. Most are struggling with addiction to alcohol or drug. Here is the rotating story set we use to speak to their needs:
(1) Walking with Jesus (Peter)
A story of COURAGE – Matthew 14:22-36
(2) Facing our Sin (Forgiven woman)
A story of FORGIVENESS – Luke 7:36-50
(3) Accepting Jesus’ Authority (Rejection and demons)
A story of POWER – Luke 4:14-37
(4) Returning Home (Prodigal son)
A story of ACCEPTANCE – Luke 15:11-32
(5) Receiving Life (Woman at the well)
A story of TRANSFORMATION – John 4:1-42
(6) Witnessing about Recovery (Man born blind)
A story of HEALING – John 9:1-41
