Marjorie Collins is a name familiar to those studying missions. (She’s authored 25 missions books and published hundreds of articles.) In this book, she basically creates a “candidate orientation to go.” This book would be most useful for a prospective recruit who is curious about “how to get from here to there.” It would fill in SOOOO many gaps in the process and calm many fears. Order it directly from the author by sending $7 (includes postage and handling to those in the USA; others, please inquire) at 1089 Kumquat Ct., Orange City, FL 32763.
Dear Marjorie,
I just read the short article about your new book and found that your are on John Knox Village in Orange City. It so happens that we are in Orange City as my grandfather passed away recently and the memorial service was yesterday at JKV. The security is quite tight there and I wonder if I could call you and then try to stop for a visit tomorrow (Friday.)
My husband and I serve in China and usually attend our organizations orientation held annually in Berkeley, CA in August. This book may be a very useful tool to those heading overseas to serve. My sister is also here from Dominican Republic where she and her family have moved for full-time service just less than 6 months ago.
We would be so blessed if you could find a few minutes to visit with us Friday.
Blessings,
Deb Phalen
I just received your question tonight about visiting tomorrow. You may certainly call me tomorrow (4/4). I am not available in the afternoon, but am free all morning. My phone is 386-774-6480. We are in Orange Tree Village right next to John Knox. Would love to meet you. Thank you very much for your contact
Forgot to say, if we can’t make contact tomorrow, please send me a Stateside address and I’ll send you a copy of Polishing Pearls. Hope we can meet, however.
Marge
I was wondering how I can order the book Polishing Pearls in the UK? How much would it cost? Is it available on ebook?
Thanks,
Pattie
Thank you, Pattie. Unfortunately, my book is not available as an ebook. but I could send it to you on a CD. I’m sure it wouldn’t be feasible to send a 114 page book as an email attachment. Sending a copy will cost about $12.00 for postage via airmail. A check in U.S. dollars could be sent. Or would someone from the States be headed your way who could take a copy? If so, give me their name and address and I will send it to them.
Marjorie
Thanks Marjorie. I think I’ll figure out who is heading to the States soon and will just order the actual paperback book from you. That seems more practical. I have your address and will have them place the order for me.
