My son wrote this past week, having hear yet another version of statistics about how many international students are currently studying here in the USA. He had come across what seems like a reputable summary infographic at…

http://www.iie.org/Research-and-Publications/Open-Doors/Data/International-Students/Infographic

It’s packed full of great stats and would be useful for those in the industry.

But my question goes beyond the stats in this infographic. What I’m wondering is — has anyone ever come across any definitive study regarding the ability and/or opportunity for international students to speak the good news upon their return to their respective homelands? Maybe it’s too tough to make the call, but surely someone out there has done a doctoral dissertation on this. How specific can we be? For example, would it be true that “for every foreign student who comes to the USA, only 5% ever see the inside of a Christian home? Of that number, 1 out of 10 come to Christ. Of that number, 1 out of 10 return to his/her homeland.” (Note: I’m asking a question, not stating a stat.) Does anyone have numbers like this… and if so, would you mind adding comments below so we can get definitive answers on this incredible open door within our homeland? If you’re from another homeland, by the way, and you have stats for your country, please share them as well. Thanks in advance for any help you can give.
