Brigada has a small publication staff. There are just two of us. We gather and “curate” stories from a variety of sources, hoping to present you with a list of 15 quick items, 8-10 lines each. It’s an eclectic mix of resources, trends, and, we trust, motivation to fulfill the Great Commission. Patrick Johnstone (Operation World pioneer) said, about Brigada, “A must read for busy Christian workers with a heart for missions.” At the end of each year, we pray that God will provide enough money to pay the bills. We prayerfully set a modest budget of $17,120 for 2013. This annual amount has remained unchanged for nearly a decade. With it, we pay hosting fees, some travel costs, some marketing expenses, and modest salaries. Each week, thousands of people actively open and click on items in Brigada from nations all over the world. Many live in regions with unfavorable economic situations. Others are more blessed. If just 172 people would take on Brigada as a special cause for their end-of-year giving… and if each of those 172 people would make a single $100 donation, our entire year’s budget would be met. You could join us in a brief celebration in the next edition — and then we wouldn’t have to ask again for another year. The great news is, throughout the year, we’ve already received $4,056.62 without even asking. (Thank you!!!) So the truth is, we really only need 131 partners.
