I am a missionary in Mexico and host short term teams. I’d like to incorporate some of these music videos into our worship times. To legally do that should I purchase them on itunes? What’s the legal aspects of that? thanks for your help.

Hi Peter. Maybe someone else will step in. My understanding of copyright law is — if the artist himself has posted it on YouTube, you have the right to play it for free as long as you don’t copy it for others. They must access the artist’s original post. However, my understanding of copyright law is that if someone OTHER than the artist posted it on Youtube, you do NOT have the right to use it or show it. So you would need to buy it. I have purchased all the songs I recommended here in Brigada Today just as a sign of good faith to the original artist… and I tried to feature only songs that were posted by the original artist, whenever possible.
