VIDEO IS A HIT!
Remember that Mormon video we mentioned? It’s a hit!!! One reader wrote, “Doug, I viewed the Mormon video this weekend, and it is excellent. They allow the Mormons to tell their side of the story, but then the video shows how to be loving and missionary to these incredibly committed, family-oriented, and good people.” Once again, it’s produced by the Interfaith Witness Department of the North American Mission Board, 4200 North Point Parkway, Alpharetta, GA 30022-4176. The 800 number for orders is 800-634-2462. 56 minutes in length.”

BE A WRITING PARTNER
Turkish World Outreach needs Christian volunteers who will send ten Gospel Letters per month to Muslim families in Turkey. They reportedly have more than three million current addresses and are praying for Gospel Letter Volunteers to reach each one. They provide Turkish letters, a translation, addresses, and instructions. Volunteers are asked to provide the postage and envelopes to send their ten letters monthly. Postage is 60 cents per letter (from the US). The letters are in Turkish and offer a free Turkish New Testament and “Jesus Film” video. An effective follow-up program is underway in Turkey, and Christian workers will reach out to those who show a serious interest in the Gospel. Each respondent will also receive the offer of a free Bible correspondence course.

SEEKING GREAT TESTIMONIES OF ADOPT-A-PEOPLE (JP2000) PROJECTS
Have you noticed the silence? Sometimes it seems deafening. There was so much “missions noise” bringing in the 90s . . ., right up through the middle of the decade. And now, if I’m not mistaken, it seems the tone has definitely dropped off some. ‘What’s gone wrong with the harvest?’

So — we need some testimonies. If you’ve got a great story about how the Joshua Project 2000 list is helping (or dare I say, hurting?) you, your church or mission agency — or if you’ve got a great adopt-a-people project going, send it our way! Two pages max… concise story about what God is doing in our midst.

Who knows… we just might turn these babies into a helpful resource for new projects! :-)

IMPORTANT: Don’t mention anything sensitive. We suggest that you might be able to give names of countries, but in many cases, you’ll need to “rename” or disguise the name of the people group and never, never, never give the names and addresses of on-site team members if they live in secure situations. Your call. But if you send it, we will publish it! :-) Let’s get the word out about what God is doing.

PLEASE: Make the subject line read, “Project Update: ….” where “….” describes a suitable title for your project, even if it’s simply the name of the group you’re reaching.

Let us know if you need check-back on anything before we publish the info, either online or on paper. We’d prefer not to have to do that of course… so if possible, make it public from the start.

Please send these items to DLucas@TeamExpansion.org.

Thanks again!
Doug Lucas

DID YOU GET AN EXTRA PIECE OF MAIL THIS WEEK?
Many did. Sorry about that! The folks at MAFxc tell me they’ve now taken drastic measures to make sure that no more extraneous email will pass through unnoticed. We hope and pray they’re right! Thanks for your patience!
