FROM THE “WHAT IN THE WORLD HAPPENED TO YOUR URL REFERENCES?” DEPARTMENT
Pardon my dust! I’m a tester for Qualcomm and their Alpha release #8 for Eudora Pro 3.0 took some liberties with the URLs in last week’s Brigada Today. Actually, you can fish out the proper URL though, if you’re just willing to weed through the garbage formatting commands. Sorry! I’m back to Version 2.2(32) today!

CALLING ALL DONATED CARS (FOR MISSIONARIES)!
car Jim Huggins is curious. “We’ve heard that some auto manufacturers donate cars to non-profit organizations (e.g. cars used for testing have been donated to schools to use in auto repair courses). We wonder: could some of these cars be made available to missionaries? Has anyone out there heard of such a program, or know where to start looking?” Good question, Jim. E-mail responses to Jim Huggins huggins@umich.edu. He’ll then summarize any responses for a future Brigada Today. Thanks Jim!

MORE ON INTERNET PHONING
In ongoing discussions about using the Internet to “talk” (like a telephone, if your PC has audio/mic), John Redman says the VocalTec product, Internet Phone 4.0, is the best. For more info, email info@vocaltec.com — but be aware that there’s a charge to this package: $50. I guess premium packages have premium prices? He also referred us to http://www.gxc.com where GXC can hook up your Internet Phone to any telephone in the world . . . for a price.

SMALL GROUP BIBLE STUDIES AND SUNDAY SCHOOL LESSONS ON MISSIONS
Looking for studies on missions for your small group? Check out the new 9-session, inductive Bible Study guide on the thread of missions from Genesis to Revelation called Witnesses to All Nations by Jim and Carol Plueddemann, available from Harold Shaw Publishers, Wheaton, IL for about $5.00. According to a referral from ACMC’s David Mays, “It is excellent.” Also available is Young Hearts for Missions, a curriculum containing 12 lessons for grades 1 – 5. This scripture-focused curriculum contains multi-cultural materials plus twelve true illustrated mission stories from around the world to engage active learning. Music, games, crafts, and reproducible sheets are included in the cost of $29.95. These lessons have been developed to stand alone or can be taught in sequence. Extra materials are suggested to provide enrichment or lengthen an hour presentation. Place your order by calling NextStep Resources 1-800-444-BOOK or write Fay at 102515.2756@CompuServe.COM for more info.

GLOBAL GLIMPSE
By uniting, Sudan churches prevented a blood-bath this February. The Islamic Sudanese government has been forcing conversion of students between 6 and 12 years old. A regional government representative demanded churches in an area called Rank open their school for Islamic teaching. When the churches refused, he threatened to use force. Later, when the official arrived with the army, he found the members of all the local churches around the school. Because a military action would have caused a blood bath, he withdrew after arresting some of the leaders, who were released a week later. The churches celebrated this as a great victory, although persecution continues across Sudan.

Global Glimpse is compiled each week by John Hanna Caleb Project Littleton, CO.

DISCOVERING THE PEOPLE GOD LOVES
How do you get information about a particular people group? We suggest you begin by subscribing to Brigada-peoples, the online people group research conference. Just email hub@xc.org with only this line in the body of the message text:
subscribe brigada-peoples

You’ll receive a welcome message that explains how to proceed from there. Basically, you just email brigada-peoples@xc.org with a simple request,
“Please help me learn more about the _(fill in the blank with your people group’s name)____ in __(fill in the blank with your people group’s country of origin)___.” Over 250 researchers and mobilizers will see your request and maybe . . . just maybe . . . one of them will have just the profile you’ve been searching for. If you have access to the web and you think your group might be one of the 1739 groups featured in the Joshua Project 2000 list, go to AD2000 & Beyond’s site at http://www.ad2000.org and drill down to the Joshua Project 2000 site. Either way, you can also go to the People Group Consultant at http://www.xc.org/pgc.html or via email, by sending the request “search __(fill in the exact name of your people group)___” to hub@xc.org. If you have trouble getting started or can’t find anything, write the folks at Brigada-peoples, since there might be alternative spellings for your group. Get more ideas at http://www.xc.org/brigada/pgcra/
