This graphic was prepared for web viewing by MAFxc’s tech imagineer, Jonathan Marsden, and is provided courtesy Global Mapping. Now for the hard part. We need to do another 1699 of these so that every people group in the Joshua Project 2000 list will be viewable online like this – and linked in with AD2000’s people group profiles – as well as other tools (like the new PGC prototype that will someday be available)! :-) But first
1. pray that all the right credits/permissions would be granted so that this project could be moved forward without stoppage
2. pray for a volunteer (who either already owns the 2021 CD or is willing to purchase it for the cause) that would consent to producing GIFs like this for 1699 people groups as a ministry to the entire international community of harvesters!
3. pray for the hard disk space somewhere on the web for these 1/2 gig of maps.
If you’re interested in providing the hard drive space available on the web for this project or in volunteering your time to make the conversions (and purchasing the Global Mapping CDs), send your message to DLucas@TeamExpansion.org and we’ll get you together with the right people and hopefully see this project take off! And in the meantime, don’t forget to pray that all the permissions/credits would be granted! :-)

FROM THE “I TOLD YOU I WOULDN’T LOSE MY HOUSE PAYMENT” DEPARTMENT
Remember our “PS” to the item on the Nance People Profiles (Brigada Today, May 3rd issue)? It read, “Now here’s the challenge! Will the folks at AD2000 & Beyond be able to dream up a way to link all 1573 profiles as hot links to their JP2000 list (accessed at http://www.ad2000.org/peoples/peoplex.htm) so it’ll appear as a jump-link on the bottom of the AD2000 & Beyond profiles??? Give ’em about 30 days and I’d lay down next month’s house payment that it’ll be done! :-) Well, guess what! They did it! (… that sigh you heard was from my wife, Penny, making out next month’s house payment check! :-)) We all owe a big thanks to Dan Scribner dan@ad2000.org, of AD2000 & Beyond’s International Office in Colorado Springs. If you stop by the IO there, you’ll recognize him immediately because he’ll be the one with tired fingers after creating worldwide web links manually for the people groups featured in the some 1500+ Nance people profiles!!! The bottom line? Now, when you sift through the profiles at AD2000 & Beyond, you can bounce instantly to the Caleb Project “Nance” links for more info.!!! Are you starting to get the idea that Dan and all the AD2000 & Beyond office staff somehow want all of us to be able find out more about these people that haven’t yet put their faith in Christ Jesus??? :-) Thanks Dan. Now here’s a dreamer for you. This doc (Lew Dick, MD informed@aol.com) wants to find out if there are folks on the web with the ability to burn CDs… then he wants to find a way to compile a CD-ROM with tons of travel medicine info. for would-be missionary-types and missionary doctors. GLOBAL GLIMPSE FROM NORTH KOREA
North Korea’s underground church has survived because it has Bibles, a missionary to the country said. By preserving and copying Korean Bibles, the church ensured its existence after the communist crackdown, he said. One group of Christians showed him their handwritten Bible. “It had been written in the dark and was scribbled. It was horrible, but they had one.” Last year at least 50,000 Bibles were smuggled into the country.

At last count, he had requests for info. from well over 50 of us! And one participant suggested that he might order as many as 20 displays! Maybe we’d better have special prayer for Ralph and his company! Sounds like they’re going to be pretty busy in these next few weeks!

REQUEST FOR PRAYER AND FASTING TOMORROW (SUNDAY THE 26TH)
Here’s a request from a family living within the former Soviet Union: “This is a request to all believers everywhere to join in an International period of prayer and fasting for the upcoming presidential election in Russia. It will begin on the 26th of May until the election takes place. As you know it is a very critical time here and religious and other freedoms are at stake. Christians in Irkutsk, Khabarovsk, Komsomolsk and other parts of Russia will be fasting on the 26th and praying throughout. We ask that you and others you know join us in this crucial time in lifting our petitions for Russia before His throne. So much work still needs to be done here. May God be merciful to us. Our God is able to do more than we ask or think. Praise His Name! His and Yours, Scott & Carmen.” If you’re willing to pray and fast for this cause, send a message to brigada-prayer-requests@xc.org and, would someone there please report the results back please? :-) Write Scott and Carmen at 103402.427@compuserve.com but please remember that they pay with cold, hard cash for each byte sent to them… (since they’re living in Siberia)! :-)

ANYONE DOING BIBLE STUDIES ON A MAC?
If so, Brian Avery brianman@ns.tmx.com.ni would like to know! He’s looking for “Bible study helps, Bibles, concordance, commentaries, etc. for Macintosh computers.” Brian, we’ll count on a summary report in two weeks, okay? :-) (Now here’s the big question: Is anyone out there still using a MAC… [period ]. :-) And just for clarification, we’re talking about the computer , not the hamburger! )

FROM THE “‘NO FREE LUNCH’ BUT MAYBE A SNACK OR TWO” DEPARTMENT
One user (wishing to remain anonymous) wrote this past week with a critique of services like “JUNO” and Freemark (1-800-881-1750), which provide internet access for free. She said, “Both of these services are only for Windows based operations at this point. They have no access for DOS or Macintosh platforms at least right now….” She went on to point out that if a local access number wasn’t available, both Juno and Freenet plan to offer toll-free service in the near future.. which might be a real plus for those in rural areas that don’t have local access to Compuserve or AOL. Also, she reminded us that most towns and cities now have one or more “freenets” that have been developed by community concerns such as libraries, schools, or nonprofits. To find out about an option for your area, consult with your largest local computer store or call a computer guru in the nearest public school or area college. Once again, these freenets might be overcrowded and probably won’t offer travel perks (such as toll-free numbers or multiples hook-up points around the area), but . . ., hey, what do you expect for free! :-) And thanks to the tipster!

MISSING A PREVIOUS ISSUE OF BRIGADA TODAY?
It’s entirely likely! In at least one situation recently, the hub machine ran into memory problems after completing a couple of thousand operations for an issue of Brigada Today (don’t you have those kind of days too??? :-)) and jumped out of the loop before finishing the mailing list of 2600+ Brigada Today recipients. (Don’t worry; we don’t think it’ll happen again. We’ve told it that we’ll withhold its midnight snack if it does that again!) So . . . if you’re interested in getting an issue you missed, just jump on the web at where every single issue (since the very beginning) is archived (Thanks again for your tireless service, Bob!). No web access??? Just send a one-line email message to hub@xc.org that reads:

You’ll get a list of all the files maintained there for your viewing pleasure. To get a past issue that you missed, such as the ill-fated “10 of May ’96”, just send another message to hub@xc.org that looks like:
