Would you take a moment to cite your favorite news source here in the comments please? Kelly and Michèle O’Donnell recently reminded us of the site,
http://www.trust.org/alertnet/blogs/
It offers updates, analyses, multimedia materials, and a blog full of first-hand stories/opinions. (Thanks Kelly and Michèle.) You might like CNN’s International site, Reuters normal news site, Fox, BBC, NBC, ABC or some other “C.” Please give us your favorite by logging on to the web version of this item and clicking “Comments.” Thanks in advance!
I have used for years: drudgereport.com.
Matt Drudge is conservative, but offers a wide variety of news sources from around the world. In 2011 he logged 10,108,523,902 visits to his, more than anyone! Links to news sources, opinion pieces around the world.
Of course, there are many other sources.
I use many different news outlets to find my news both on the web and on the TV. Assuming that we are looking at English language outlets, I recommend looking at newspapers from a variety of countries, most have an English language edition. Most recently I’ve really gotten a lot out of the Al Jazeera English language news http://www.aljazeera.com/ especially with all that’s happening in the Middle East Region.
I have http://www.news.yahoo.com as my home page–this brings together much of the news from the major news wires–AP, Reuters, AFP. For other excellent links to world news I use the sites of the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Christian Science Monitor and others. To access the complete AFP wire for several days I go to: http://www.france24.com/en/all-wire. Then, I receive two daily compilations which I think are excellent for a quick overview. For world news I get the Morning Brief from Foreign Policy magazine: http://www.foreignpolicy.com/newsletters. Because I have spent so much of my life in Latin America I also get a similar daily overview from Latin Dispatch: http://latindispatch.com/newsletter/
Valuable stuff, Ken! Great work!
