The program’s costs, including fees, insurance, personal expenses, security deposit, and other necessary paperwork, make it unaffordable for most students. For the same amount of money, I could complete a three-year BA degree in religious science at a European university and have enough left over to enjoy a yearly vacation with my family in France or Spain, near the Mediterranean Sea.
Frankly it wouldn’t be the same thing. I know the principal and some visiting lecturers and I can vouch for the quality of the program and the usefulness of time spent residing there.
The fees on the website are in NZD. This is a very important note as it significantly decreases the overall cost for many students. The experience of studying outside your home culture with people from around the world (like at Eastwest) is crucial preparation for the mission field as you begin to think differently about theology, cultures, etc. The educational experience for the price is second to none once you consider the exchange rate.
