A Brigada reader mentioned the book Do Something, Make Your Life Count when asked how their church mobilizes for local missions. This book, written by Miles McPherson, has powerful true stories, illustrations from the life of Christ, and specific activities for readers to engage in. It sounds like a good resource for mobilizing local volunteers. http://www.bakerpublishinggroup.com/books/do-something/319264. Have you read it? What other tools do you use? Please comment.

YES! Do Something! I believe that working with internationals living among us (Yes, they are just living among us; they are not “melting into the pot and becoming American!)…relating with internationals in our neighborhoods..at the doorsteps of our churches is one of the most significant “foreign” mission fields today! In addition to Miles’ good encouraging book to DoSomething, may I boldly say that Emmaus Road International has published a book identifying seven types of internationals living among us and creative ways to relate with them and introduce them to Jesus! INTERNATIONALS WHO LIVE AMONG US.
