We’ve asked before but we’ll ask again post pandemic: suppose you had a friend who was looking to stage a conference in Europe. Suppose he was searching for a retreat center that would hold 250 people — rooms, food, meetings (no dorms). Where would you send him? Shouldn’t an org like O.M., YWAM, or GEM or SOMEONE have a big enough retreat center in a place like Croatia, France, England? Where would you send him? Please comment!

I have stayed at these places here in Germany which are capable of accomodating as many as 250 people.
Christian:
* Christliches Gästezentrum Westerwald, Rehe, Rheinland-Pfalz https://www.cgw-rehe.de/ , far away from any public transportation; some of the 250 people would need to stay in 3 or 4 bed rooms)
* Schönblick, Schwäbisch Gmünd, Baden-Württemberg https://www.schoenblick.de , reachable by direct Intercity long distance train from Stuttgart or Nürnberg (and then car shuttle to the house); large, been there with a conference of 400 people
Secular:
* Sauerland Stern Hotel, Willingen(Upland), Hessen, https://www.sauerland-stern-hotel.de/, 10 minute walk from a regional train station. LARGE (been there with a conference of 1500 people), ski resort, infamous for its alcoholic parties but being used by several christian conferences
* Tagungszentrum Blaubeuren (near Ulm, halfway from Stuttgart to München), Baden-Württemberg, https://www.tagungszentrum-blaubeuren.de/en/ , needs 15 minute car shuttle from Blaubeuren train station. Some of the 250 people would need to stay in multi-bed rooms.
Try OM Germany. They have a huge conference center with accommodation and food onsite.
In England, there is accommodation for 400 at https://www.cct.org.uk/the-hayes/the-hayes-conference-centre which has nice grounds for retreats.
Or High Leigh is a Christian conference centre with 168 bedrooms including fouble, twin and family rooms. Nice grounds for retreats. See https://www.cct.org.uk/high-leigh/accommodation

This Christian conference center in the Czech Republic might be a good option… https://www.malenovice.com/
We have stayed at Malenovice! We highly recommend it. It’s such a lovely place.
We have used hotels in Europe for retreats for 300-600 people. Among the best we have used are the Creta Maris in Heraklion, Crete, and the Puerto Antilla Grand hotel in Islantilla, Spain,
