FOR THOSE OVERSEAS IN BUSINESS/SECULAR WORK…

What can be done for Jesus Christ while one is furthering national or business interests overseas? This month’s Operation Reveille Shofar feature article describes how to multiply ministry opportunities with low intensities of engagement. There’s also an area study of the Balkan Peninsula as well as news and testimonies about what God is doing overseas and how you can be involved. RESEARCH ON REACHING POST-COMMUNIST YOUTH

If you are working with youth in Eastern Europe or Russia, you might benefit from reading the results of some research done among Russian young people, regarding their religious attitudes prior to hearing the gospel, their experience of “being evangelized” by Westerners, their own descriptions of their conversions, and their evaluations of Western evangelistic methods. Many of their comments are applicable to Westerners doing evangelism anywhere. THE “USE” MINISTRY

Unlimited Strategy Evangelism, in existence since 1977, has as its main focus, at this time, the assisting of Pastors and Church Leaders in areas of the world where they have not had the opportunity for formal training. This is accomplished through one or two week long seminars consisting of Bible study, equipping, workshops, problem solving, and Q & A sessions. USE has ministered through out the USA and into Mexico, Colombia, Argentina, Singapore, Malaysia, and New Zealand. Currently, ministries are scheduled for Mexico (June) and Kenya (Sept). MINORITIES OF CHINA HANDBOOK

Paul Hattaway has recently completed what will certainly be the definitive introduction to China’s 400+ minorities, Operation China: Introducing all the Peoples of China. As you can infer from the title, this book is a prayer guide (Patrick Johnstone wrote the Foreword and will use much info from this book in the new edition of Operation World), introducing 1-2 minority groups per day to be prayed for. Hattaway, based on more than 10 years of research, packs this book with info on each minority: population, alternate names, location, religion, languages, status of evangelization, customs, and history. This book is a must for anyone desiring all the “nations” of China to know the Savior. JUNE CONCERTS OF PRAYER FOR TURKEY

International Turkey Network would like to invite you and your church to participate in an “International Concert of Prayer for Turkey.” Its members are asking churches and individuals around the world to set aside some time during the weekend of June 1st – 3rd for a time of prayer focused on the nation of Turkey. We will be posting some suggested items for intercession and general formats that you might want to use. We will suggest a two-hour concert of prayer, but will also offer ideas for formatting a one-hour meeting and a 15-minute section of a worship service. If you schedule a time of prayer let us know how approximately how many will be participating. We want the believers and workers in Turkey to be encouraged by knowing how many will be praying on their behalf. When you respond, we will send you further information.
