10) New Book, “In the Way,” Just Might Help Us Get “Out of the Way!”

In his new book, “In the way: Church As We Know It Can Be a Discipleship Movement (Again),” Damian Gerke takes a long, hard look at current paradigms and perceptions for church life in North America. He then helps us plot a way forward with lots of possible coaching points for the future. When asked about his goals for the book, Damian told Brigada, “My hope is that this book helps set the stage for the church (particularly in the West) to discover its next steps, to refocus its calling, capability, and vibrancy, and uncover its opportunity that remains largely untapped. I hope for healthy and productive — not divisive — conversations about what the church should be, and then about what it should do.
