Dave works with his local church to shepherd missionaries. He’s looking for a great program to provide member care and debriefing for a couple of their missionaries families who are returning to the USA for keeps. I’m familiar with MTI’s DAR program…

and TRAIN International’s “Abide”…

Are there others you would recommend that he consider? If so, just click “Comment” after the web or app version of this item. Thanks in advance for your help for Dave!
Elijah’s Inn
Located in German which helps people debrief before they have to interact with “home”

Veta! I’m working for Member Care with Serge now, and just came across this comment of yours and I figured it had to be the Veta I know. Hope you are well!
We’ve had very good success with Heartstream Resources:
heartstreamresources.com
I would second that. Heartstream Resources in Pennsylvania provides a very good 2-week program for returning missionaries.
GRC – Enabling Global Workers to Thrive! Providing all levels of member care services from Debriefing, through Psychiatric Care
In addition to serving clients in the Southeastern US, GRC also has regular trips to Indonesia to serve Global Workers on field.
Dave,
My wife and I are Missionary Care providers for our mission. We highly recommend Le Rucher Ministries for debriefing and other Missionary/Member Care needs.
Have you heard of La Ruché in Switzerland? They now also have trained people around the world. We had a great debrief in England at Easter this year.
Check out https://emmausencounter.org/. We are very pleased with the member care services we get from Janet and Andy Kerr, and we were very blessed by doing a 1 week debriefing with them last year.
We are member care providers with our mission. Our members have used Heartstream, Emmaus Encounter, and DAR as mentioned above.
Some of our members have also used Alongside in Michigan: http://www.alongsidecares.net/retreats
I forgot to mention Paracletos’s Recalibate! Debriefing for groups. https://paracletos.org/recalibrate-debriefing/
I don’t know anyone who has attended yet, but I appreciate the resources they have available online for pastors and churches and individuals who want to care for missionaries that their churches support.
Contact John Crowe at Mission Resource Center in Raleigh, NC. He does missionary debriefs.

I would highly recommend two ministries which offer group debrief experiences.
1- Excelling Leaders http://excellingleaders.org/ Who offer Radiant Life Debrief several times a years. “A debriefing retreat for cross cultural Christian workers and their families to process experiences from the field and promote resiliency.” See more details and staff at: http://excellingleaders.org/retreat/
2-Paracletos: Coming Alongside Missionaries https://paracletos.org/ a full member care service who offer

If you are looking for a debriefing resource that can be utilized locally, you may find “Returning Well” an option. More info is at the website: http://www.ReturningWell.com. Also, equipping videos for Companions are available at the Returning Well website under Companions, then Serving As One.
emmausencounter.org and YWAM Montana Lakeside’s debriefing department are both excellent. As well as LeRucher East Coast in Georgia.
THese are some GREAT resources to help Dave (and many others) with his question. Please keep them coming if you know of others. We’ll highlight this list in the next Brigada.
The Center for Intercultural Training in NC also offers an excellent Debrief Retreat.
Indeed, the website for CIT’s debrief is here: https://cit-online.org/adult-program/courses/

Piringa at Algies Bay near Auckland is excellent. Gavin & Michelle are very experienced ex missionaries trained at La Rucher.
Deeper Roots Publications has Coming Home, Coming Home Again, and Returning Home. Each of these 3 resources are devotional Bible studies & Journals that are sequenced to the ReEntry Stress Curve that have been used successfully by thousands.
They also publish Lisa E. Chinn’s ReEntry Guide for Short Term Missions (also good for long termers). We call that the “what is it book” and any of the the above 3 books are “how to do it” resources.
