Today I tried to express my gratitude to a church that has supported our work since June 1981. They haven’t missed a single month… like clockwork. And it’s mainstream support, too. One of our top 2 donors. So my question is this: How in the world do we adequately thank them for all the blessings of 28 *years* of monthly contributions? Every month, when the check arrives, I say to myself — “How do they do this?” It’s so sobering.
Do you have churches or individuals like that? If so, what do you do to say thanks?

Special premiums to special partners. We’ve been in ministry 12 years: I have used all of these at one time or another. Calendars w/ pictures from the field, special communiques (handwritten and e-mail), books that have “hit me hard,” unscheduled phone calls. Special partners need some kind of special attention.

For a number of years, our monthly “Thank You” to ALL donors had a cartoon on the cover. It showed a couple of IRS guys with dark glasses and turned-up collars at the front door of a house. The startled couple are standing at the open door. One IRS agent says, “I understand you are storing up treasures and investing in mansions.” Our greatest focus is always on the privilege God has given them to invest in His Kingdom. And how grateful we are that He has chosen for them to do it through ERI.
Is the above IRS cartoon available electronically anywhere?
We posed a similar question in Missions Catalyst a few months ago. This week’s edition includes the reader responses. So far the most popular in our list is the Ken Williams Classic on 50 Ways to Express Gratitude to Partners. You can Google that on its own and download the PDF, or check out additional suggestions at http://www.calebresources.org/node/132
