I had to laugh at my friend, Jim, this past week. He suggested that we promote 5Fish and Kolo World for language learning and mission. (Jim is the head of research for the IMB and Southern Baptist Convention.) He wrote it this way, “Doug and Jim are going to a Vietnamese Restaurant. Doug is buying because he loves his friend Jim so much. As soon as we are seated, I pull up the Jesus film play list that I made before I went to the restaurant, and it has just what I wanted in the order I want to play it, and I’ve made sure to include the invitation to receive Christ as the final scene in my play list. When the young lady or man comes to take our order, they see and hear the J Film playing in their language. I give them my phone to take back to the kitchen. Pretty soon, we can see them listening to it in there. After only a couple of minutes, they bring my phone back. I tell them to keep it and listen, but they tell me that they have already downloaded and installed Kolo World and are listening to it on their own phones. And, they have messaged some of their friends to download it across town. Perhaps they will used Air Play and put it on their televisions in the restaurants.” Of course, you might argue that you don’t want to give your phone away to a waiter you just met, but maybe this is a phone you’ve customized specifically for this use. :-) Either way, Jim makes a strong case for using these sites:

The folks at Renew Outreach have a great page on using Kolo:
