The more complicated your itinerary, the more likely it is that there will be some kind of hiccup. You can buy travel interruption insurance from a number of sources, among which is…

which makes a gift to Brigada for every policy you buy there. From my own searches, I’ve never found travel insurance for less money, either… and I’ve had to collect from them more than once and they’ve paid promptly, even if all I had were my cancelled tickets and a travel log. Regardless of where you purchase it, it’s becoming more and more necessary these days. Security lines are longer, check-ins are more complicated, and connections are more harried. So do yourself a favor. It’s a small price to pay for a great reimbursement plan. Basically, no matter what you have to do, just make sure you keep your receipts and everything will be covered. Travel interruption insurance has now become standard operating procedure for me.
Roundtrip/Sevencorners caused us some very unnecessary panic yesterday. Our monthly VISA statement contained a charge from Nationwide Ins, which I mistakenly supposed was for my life insurance policy with Nationwide Life Insurance Company of America, which assured me that they do not accept payment by credit cards. So I was deep into the process of filing a Transaction Dispute with VISA for this supposedly fraudulent charge before I finally discovered that the mysterious charge was from Roundtrip/Sevencorners for trip insurance I had purchased several weeks ago. The traumatic thought that my VISA account would be closed and a new one opened could have been avoided if Roundtrip/ Sevencorners had indicated anywhere in the documents that they issued how the charge would show up on my VISA statement, something that they deny having any control of.
Carl, thanks for the feedback. I’ll forward it to them with the hopes they’ll work out a system. Thanks.
