1) Standing Side by Side (Thank you!)
Thanks to those who have stood up side by side with us in empowering Brigada for another year. This past week, we received a total of $233.23 in gifts to Jesus through Brigada, bringing our over all total to $8813.41 out of a total annual budget need of $17,000. This means that only 82 people are needed – assuming each of the 82 would give $100. Of course, if 8 churches and/or partners gave $1000 each, we’d be completely fueled up and ready to roll instantly. To stand side by side with these fellow-helpers, just browse to https://brigada.org/empower-brigada and click Donate. God bless you! read more…

3) Joy To the World
The article “7 Christmas Carols That Are Actually About Missions” on ABWE beautifully uncovers the deeper meanings behind some of our favorite Christmas carols. Alex Kocman and Scott Dunford take us on a journey through songs like “Joy to the World” and “I Heard the Bells on Christmas Day,” revealing how these carols celebrate not just the birth of Jesus, but His powerful reign over the entire world. They remind us that these songs are more than just festive tunes; they are anthems of God’s mission to bring His love and salvation to every corner of the earth. It’s a heartwarming reminder that as we sing these carols, we’re also celebrating the global impact of Christ’s birth and His ongoing work through missions. 4) Do Missions Separate Families?
The blog found at https://barrentobeautiful.com/2015/01/06/does-missions-separate-families/ explores the emotional and practical challenges faced by families involved in missionary work. The author shares a personal story about their brother-in-law’s family moving to Africa for missionary work and the impact it has on their family relationships. The article highlights the sacrifices made by missionaries, such as missing significant family events and enduring difficult living conditions, but also emphasizes the greater purpose and joy they find in obeying God’s call and bringing others into the family of God. Listen in as one writer wrestles with the reality that, especially during the holidays, missionaries are missed by their families and also miss being with their families. Consider sharing the blog with those on the field, their families back home, and with member care friends. read more…

10) What’s Your Best Rewards Credit Card for Travel?
We know, we know – credit cards can get us in trouble. But let’s operate under the assumption that a) we’re only going to spend the money we already have in our possession and b) we’re going to pay them off on time every month. With those two disclaimers, why wouldn’t we want to use a credit to purchase big-ticket items like airfare and hotel rooms when we travel, if for no other reason than being able to accumulate the rewards miles, right? So which cards have you found work best? Seems like we need to look in at least two tiers: First, which free card do you prefer and second, which fee card has helped you the most. Read on for a couple of our suggestions – and to offer your own please. read more…
