The blog found at https://barrentobeautiful.com/2015/01/06/does-missions-separate-families/ explores the emotional and practical challenges faced by families involved in missionary work. The author shares a personal story about their brother-in-law’s family moving to Africa for missionary work and the impact it has on their family relationships. The article highlights the sacrifices made by missionaries, such as missing significant family events and enduring difficult living conditions, but also emphasizes the greater purpose and joy they find in obeying God’s call and bringing others into the family of God. Listen in as one writer wrestles with the reality that, especially during the holidays, missionaries are missed by their families and also miss being with their families. Consider sharing the blog with those on the field, their families back home, and with member care friends.

Thank you for this. It’s a great article!
I’ve been on the mission field for 46 years, got married here–to a local–31 years ago. My parents saw their grandchildren once a year, besides pictures via real mail and letters. Now our grandchild is in my home country and I’m seeing how it was for my parents.
