I do use it to comunicate with people in certain South Asian nations. Sad that things are getting more compolicated.
It appears the article this links to is from October of 2021. If so, this would be an old report. Is there a new report that confirms similar results today in 2024?
One tool I do not use, but I hear it is built for such places is “diode.io” As some things are blocked, other things are built. Many of the tools get blocked because the countries in questions consider such encryption illegal. So, one needs to be careful what they use. Simply finding another app that is not blocked is sometimes not the right way to go. I always recommend talking to someone like https://www.ericiussecurity.org/ before simply diving into another communications technology.
